Weekend Getaway Marriage Conference – Montebello, QC

Dave and Rushia first met on a college campus in Kelowna, BC. During a bus ride Dave knew Rushia was the girl he was going to marry and Rushia knew Dave was the guy she should stay away from. Three years later they were married. Over their 34 years together, they’ve been teachers in Northern Saskatchewan, travelled to 25 countries, parented 5 athletic children, and welcomed in-laws and a granddaughter into the family. Dave leads Athletes in Action nationally and Rushia is the Women’s Pastor for Central Heights church in Abbotsford, BC.

Matt and Josie first met at an A&W restaurant of all places and started the adventure of marriage in 2000. Matt served in various pastoral roles while Josie became a photographer with a few side jobs in the banking and food industries. In 2019 they moved back to BC from Saskatoon and joined FamilyLife Canada where they now serve as Regional Representatives. They live in Kelowna with their two young adult sons and one teenage son, as well as with their cat, Stormie, who lives up to her name. They love connecting with couples and cheering them on in their marriage.

Emile and Dominique will have the pleasure of leading an optional session offered exclusively in French. They have been married for 16 years and live in Ottawa with their two sons (Gabriel, 8, and Timothée, 6). Both are actively involved in their Francophone church’s young adults ministry. They strongly believe that marriage flourishes when God is at the center of the relationship. They continually seek to live in partnership for God’s glory, and it is a true privilege for them to support couples in fully enjoying their union.

Nancy Collette and Benoit Laprade will facilitate an optional session offered exclusively in French. Nancy and Benoit have been married for 30 years and have two daughters, Frédérique and Elisabeth. Together, they lead the couples ministry at Église Nouvelle Vie. They are passionate about helping couples embrace the life God is calling them to live—a life of abundance and joy. Drawing on their life experience and leadership, they communicate hope to couples and equip them to navigate the various challenges of life together.

Married since 2013 and parents of four children, Daniel and Maryse have been involved for more than ten years in various care and support ministries. Motivated by a desire to live fully for God and to use their gifts and talents in His service, they founded Main dans la main, a Christian sexology support ministry. Their mission is to walk alongside Christian couples so they may discover and experience the inheritance God has planned for their marriage: a flourishing emotional and sexual intimacy rooted in His grace.
